Visiting Research Fellow

CHUNG Kyung Hee is a visiting research fellow at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies in Seoul, Korea. Prior to joining Asan, She was an associate professor of American Studies at Tamna University. Also she served as an academic advisor at Yonsei University. In addition she was a visiting scholar at University of California in Berkeley’s Department of History, from 2002 to 2003, and School of Law, from 2003 to 2005. She received her Ph.D. and M.A. from Seoul National University, majoring American history, and a B.A. from Seoul National University, majoring history education. Her areas of specialization are in American political history and history education in Korea and the United States. She has published many books and articles. Her recent major publications include How Korean History Textbooks Were Taken Over: The Analysis on the Ideological Takeover Process of High School Korean History Textbooks(Seoul: Bibong Publishing Co., 2013), Thomas Jefferson: the Third President(Seoul: Sunin Book, 2011), “America in High School Textbooks of Korea,” The Korean History Education Review No. 114 (2010).
