On October 15, the Korea Economic Institute, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs held a workshop titled Future of the United States–Republic of Korea Relationship at KEI in Washington, D.C.

The first panel focused on the survey data collected by the Chicago Council and the Asan Institute. Scott Snyder, from the Council on Foreign Relations, presented the Chicago Council Data, while Dr. Jiyoon Kim, Director of the Public Opinion Studies Center at the Asan Institute, presented the Asan data.

The second panel discussed the role of the U.S. in the Asia-Pacific during the next administration, using the survey data as a starting point. Dr. Abraham Kim, President (Interim) of KEI moderated the session, and the panelists were Dr. Victor Cha (CSIS), Michael Schiffer (U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs), and Dr. Jung-Yeop Woo, Director of Security Studies at the Asan Institute.
