Founder & Honorary Chairman

Dr. Chung Mong Joon
Dr. Chung Mong Joon is a seven-term member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. He is a former Chairman of the Grand National Party and was also a presidential candidate in 2002.
Dr. Chung is the Chairman of the board of trustees of Ulsan University and the Asan Foundation, the largest philanthropic organization in Korea. In 2011, he launched the Asan Nanum (“sharing”) Foundation which seeks to foster entrepreneurship and leadership among young Koreans. He served as Vice President of FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association), the world governing body of football, and as Co-Chairman of the Korean Organizing Committee for the 2002 Korea-Japan FIFA World Cup.
Dr. Chung received his B.A. in economics from Seoul National University, an M.S. from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, and a Ph.D. in international relations from the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at the Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Lee In-ho
Dr. Lee In-ho is a Professor Emeritus of Seoul National University, former Korean Ambassador to Russia and Finland, and President of the Korea Foundation. Dr. Lee laid the foundation for Russian studies in Korea by launching the Korean Association for
Slavic Studies and establishing the Russian Studies Institute at Seoul National University. She has taught history at Barnard, Columbia, Korea University, and Seoul National University, served on various governmental and semi-governmental commissions, and contributes columns to major newspapers. Educated at Seoul National University and Wellesley College, Dr. Lee holds a Ph.D. in history from Harvard University.

Dr. Hahm Chaibong
Dr. Hahm Chaibong is the President of the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. Previously, he was a Senior Political Scientist at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, California; professor in the School of International Relations and the Department of Political Science as well as the Director of the Korean Studies Institute at the University of Southern California; Director (D-1) of the Division of Social Sciences Research & Policy at UNESCO in Paris, France; and professor in the Department of Political Science at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. Dr. Hahm received a B.A. in economics from Carleton College and an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from the Johns Hopkins University.
